This booklet, “The Institution of Zakat,” is developed from the book titled, “The Institution of Zakat – A Do it Yourself Zakat Guide,” authored by Mohammad Mazhar Hussaini, with further input from Central Zakat Committee members. Initially, it was reviewed by Dr. Muzammil Siddiqui, Dr. Mohammad Noor Abdullah, Dr. Mohammad Omar Farooq, and edited by Maulana Khaja Shua ib-ud-Din, Marghoob Ahmed Quraishi, and SumaiyahBintulislam. Maulana Abdullah Saleem and Sh. Jamal Said reviewed the answers to the “Frequently Asked Questions,” included in this booklet.
